ISO 26262 is a globally recognized automotive functional safety standard that covers the entire lifecycle of automotive products, aiming to control the risks caused by systematic and random hardware failures within an acceptable range. This standard was officially released in November 2011, and the second edition was released in 2018, adding semiconductor guidelines and new regulations on the specific safety mechanisms of semiconductor components used in products. ISO 26262 is a complex certification system, mainly consisting of two aspects: production process certification; The second is product functional certification, which requires the security mechanism to comply with ASIL certification at all levels.
The Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) is a risk classification system defined by the ISO26262 standard, which is determined based on three factors: severity (S), exposure (E), and controllability (C). Based on different combinations of these three factors, ASIL is divided into four levels, from low to high: ASIL A、ASIL B、ASIL C、ASIL D。 In addition, there is another QM (Quality Management) level, which, although there are hazardous risks, can be effectively controlled through routine quality management measures.
